The Ontario government is giving communities more ways to enjoy outdoor cultural and community events safely.
Starting this spring, residents attending festivals, farmers’ markets, movie nights, and art exhibits in participating municipalities can bring their own alcohol in designated areas.
Officials say the expanded permits will save money for attendees, reduce costs for organizers, and boost local tourism and economic activity.
Municipalities must pass bylaws to allow alcohol at public events, with applications opening April 30 through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
