The temporary concrete barriers will be replace with an asphault median
Drivers using Muskoka Road 118 West in Bracebridge will see changes to the traffic setup between Balls Drive and Westmall Road.
The temporary concrete barriers installed in 2025 will be replaced with a concrete curb and asphalt median. Left turns will continue to be restricted, with additional markings and signs added to clarify traffic movements.
The District says the restrictions follow an engineering review that found 29 collisions on the stretch between 2020 and 2024, including one fatality.
The changes are intended to reduce the risks associated with vehicles crossing multiple lanes of traffic.
The median will remain while long-term plans for the corridor are developed.
