With a Flood Watch now in effect and more rain in the forecast, the Township of Muskoka Lakes is making sand, sandbags, and shovels available to property owners at two locations: Glen Orchard Yard in Port Carling and the Muskoka Lakes Sports Park in Bala.
Residents in flood-prone areas are urged to take precautions, including clearing snow and ice from foundation walls, checking sump pumps, and securing docks and outdoor items near waterways. Authorities are also reminding residents to stay away from fast-moving water and unstable banks.
