The Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Dept is separating into two different municipal services
The Town of Huntsville confirmed that its shared fire services administration agreement with the Township of Lake of Bays will officially end July 1st, following Lake of Bays’ earlier decision to withdraw from the partnership.
Huntsville Fire Chief Gary Monahan says the transition is complete and residents will not notice any change in emergency response or service levels.
The department will continue operating as the Huntsville Fire Department, with mutual aid agreements still in place with neighbouring services.
Town officials say the change is largely administrative, aimed at improving efficiency and allowing each municipality to better tailor fire services to its own needs.
