The expanded services will be available at the old Freshco Building
A major expansion is underway for The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation in Huntsville.
The Table has taken over the former Freshco plaza, now renamed The Table Plaza, and will relocate its food bank, exchange store, and office there once renovations are complete.
The new space will also house a warming and cooling centre, café, art gallery, hydroponics, and more.
Their current Hanes Street site will continue operating the men’s hostel and kitchen, with plans for affordable housing.
The Table says the move addresses rising food insecurity and homelessness. Volunteers and donations are now being sought.
