A new report from The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation suggests food insecurity and housing challenges continue to grow across Muskoka.

The charity's 2025 Impact Report says nearly one in three households in the region are struggling to afford food, citing data from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. Last year, the organization recorded more than 10,400 family visits to its food bank, distributed over 13,000 food baskets, and served more than 6,100 meals through its soup kitchen.

The report also says 37 men stayed at its hostel for a combined 2,700 nights, while more than 102,000 pounds of surplus food were rescued and redistributed to people in need. The organization says it is continuing to expand its services through the new Table Plaza community hub in downtown Huntsville.
