The new facility will be located in Minden and will host students starting in 2027
The Trillium Lakelands District School Board has received provincial approval to build a new Outdoor Education and Indigenous Learning Centre in Minden.
The planned 90-acre site will support hands-on learning for students from Kindergarten through Grade 12, blending curriculum, wellness, and land-based Indigenous education.
The project includes a 3,000-square-foot facility and will draw on guidance from Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers. Programming will focus on environmental stewardship, physical activity, leadership, and mental well-being.
The centre is expected to open to students and staff in the spring of 2027.
