One student hails from the Bracebridge area
Two new student trustees have been sworn in to represent students across the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.
Zaina Baig, a Grade 11 student at Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute, and Mahua Gupta, a Grade 12 student at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School, were sworn in at the Board’s August 25 public meeting.
The two will serve one-year terms and work with the Trillium Student Senate to bring student concerns to the Board.
Gupta says she plans to focus on student mental health and discrimination against minorities through awareness campaigns and support initiatives.
