Police say the man was responsible for thefts at Home Depot, and a construction yard
Police in Muskoka have arrested a Trout Creek man following an investigation into two high-value thefts months apart.
Ontario Provincial Police say the investigation involved officers from Huntsville and Bracebridge, along with the Muskoka and North Bay Community Street Crime Units.
It began after nearly $5500 worth of merchandise was stolen from a Bracebridge Home Depot in September, and continued after hundreds of metres of copper cable — valued at up to $40,000— were taken from a construction yard in Huntsville just after Christmas.
Fifty-three-year-old Matthew Kilbourne is charged with multiple theft, mischief and probation-related offences. He was held for a bail hearing, with future court dates pending.
