So far the town's recruitment program has brought in 8 new physicians
The Town of Huntsville says its physician recruitment efforts are continuing to pay off.
Two more doctors have signed five-year commitments to practice in the community, bringing the total number recruited to eight since the program launched in 2024. The Town is aiming to attract ten physicians in total and says several more candidates are in discussions.
Officials say the addition of two new practices will help reduce local waitlists, with at least 500 patients expected to be connected to a primary care provider. Residents without a doctor are encouraged to register through Health Care Connect, as local providers will use centralized waitlists to assign patients.
Council also recently approved a new healthcare advisory panel to support long-term planning, as the Town continues working with regional partners to improve access to care.
