The man was fined after leaving pickup trucks, campers and other equipment on public lands for months
A Muskoka-area man has been fined $3,500 for illegally occupying public land and leaving equipment at prohibited camping sites.
The Ontario Court of Justice heard conservation officers found a camping trailer, pickup trucks and a flatbed trailer in the McConnell Lakes Management Area and another site in McAuslan Township in November 2024.
The items had been left there for months, despite camping being prohibited. The man removed most of the equipment in 2025. Court records show he had previously been convicted for leaving a camping trailer on public land.
