Water and flows are still high in parts of the Muskoka Watershed
Water safety precautions remain in place across parts of central Ontario as officials monitor changing river conditions.
The Ministry of Natural Resources Bracebridge–Minden–Parry Sound District has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement warning of elevated water levels and fast-moving flows in areas including the Severn River and French River.
The advisory, in effect until Friday, June 5, covers much of the Muskoka, Parry Sound and Haliburton regions.
Officials are urging residents, boaters and visitors to use extra caution around dams and waterways, noting that recent high water may have shifted safety equipment and signage. While levels are expected to continue dropping in many areas, some locations are beginning to stabilize as conditions gradually improve.
