An ice build up of up to 15mm is expected before it switches to snow
Environment Canada has issued a Yellow Alert - Winter Storm Warning as a significant winter storm is expected to move into the region on Sunday afternoon and last through Monday night.
Freezing rain is likely at the start, with ice buildup of five to fifteen millimetres possible before the system changes over to snow. Snowfall totals of up to fifteen centimetres are expected.
Environment Canada says conditions could change quickly, with periods of poor visibility, icy roads, and blowing snow. Power outages and road closures are also possible.
Drivers are being urged to avoid non-essential travel and be prepared for rapidly deteriorating conditions.
