The units will be a mix of bungalows and townhouse units
110 new residential units are coming to Huntsville after Planning Council approved a revised development proposal for the Grandview Backlands along Highway 60.
Council gave unanimous approval at their last planning meeting to an application from Halmont Properties Corporation, following a public meeting and changes to the original plan. The development will feature a mix of bungalow and two-storey townhouses on the former golf course lands, accessed from Highway 60 and Grandview Drive.
Planning staff say the updated proposal addresses traffic, environmental, and public feedback, and includes conservation lands, open space blocks, stormwater management, and a new connection to the Fairy Vista Trail to be conveyed to the Town.
Developers say the project will expand housing options for families, downsizers, and empty-nesters.
