In all, five drivers plus a passenger were charged
Bracebridge OPP have charged four more drivers with impaired driving during the first two weekends of May, pushing this year’s total to 42. Incidents included single-vehicle crashes in Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes, and a vehicle found in a ditch. Those charged are due in court in June.
And a traffic stop on Highway 400 has led to multiple serious charges. Police arrested 51-year-old Jason Schell of Mactier for impaired driving, possession of opioids, and five counts of driving while prohibited.
He’s also charged with weapons and court order violations and was held for a bail hearing. His passenger, 33-year-old Jessica Beasley, also of Mactier, faces charges for opioid possession and unauthorized possession of a weapon. Both are due in court next month.
