Builders can access up to $100K in funding and residents up to $50K
Local developers and homeowners in Muskoka have a new incentive to help tackle the regional housing shortage.
The District of Muskoka has officially opened applications for two funding streams under its Affordable Housing Initiatives Program. Developers creating multi-unit affordable rentals can access up to $100,000 per unit for new builds or building conversions. Meanwhile, property owners looking to add secondary suites—like basement apartments or garden suites—can receive up to $50,000. Officials say the goal is to make safe, attainable housing available for more local families.
Applications for 2027 funding are open now through January 8th.
