The health unit has placed the first floor under an enteric outbreak
The first floor of Fairvern Long-Term Care Home in Huntsville has been placed under an enteric outbreak by The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
The outbreak was declared on Wednesday after some residents began experiencing symptoms. Those residents, along with their roommates, have been isolated to help prevent the spread of illness.
Fairvern says enhanced infection prevention measures are now in place, including increased monitoring of residents and staff, additional cleaning and disinfection, the use of personal protective equipment, and keeping residents on their respective floors.
Visitors are being asked to follow posted infection control measures, visit only their loved one, and stay home if they are feeling unwell.
