The fire ban takes effect Thursday, Aug 14
A full fire ban will take effect in Algonquin Provincial Park today at 5 p.m.
The move comes as Muskoka remains under a total fire ban due to rapidly worsening dry conditions.
Fire chiefs have raised the region’s danger rating to extreme. The ban covers all outdoor burning, including campfires, charcoal barbecues, and fireworks. Officials say the restrictions will stay in place until conditions improve.
