No daytime burning is permitted
The Muskoka Fire Danger Rating has been lowered to moderate, allowing small fires in most areas, keeping in mind no daytime burning is permitted.
The fire dept. says that any open flames must be watched closely and completely put out when done.
Despite the lower rating, officials warn that forest fuels are still very dry, meaning new fires can start easily and spread fast, making them harder to control.
Residents are urged to use extreme caution with any burning or forest activity.
