Mayor Alcock says crews are working continuously to manage the situation
Flooding continues to impact parts of Huntsville as the Town monitors rising water levels, waterways, and road conditions across the community. Officials say several areas are experiencing flooding and are urging residents to avoid affected locations, follow all posted signage, and exercise caution when travelling. Town leaders say conditions have evolved over the past 10 days, affecting homes, businesses, roads, and parks, and warn that additional rainfall could further strain local waterways.
Huntsville Mayor Nancy Alcock says crews are working continuously to manage the situation and keep residents informed, praising both staff and community resilience. Property owners in flood-prone and low-lying areas, including parts of the downtown core and Port Sydney, are being asked to take precautions to protect their properties. Residents with private wells in flooded zones are also being advised to assume their water is unsafe to drink.
Officials continue to stress safety around fast-moving water and say sand and sandbags remain available at designated sites as recovery and monitoring efforts continue.
