The River Mill Park ice rink will be operated each year without further approval, boosting community events and tourism.
Huntsville Council has approved ongoing permission for the Chamber of Commerce to operate the ice-skating rink at River Mill Park.
The move ends the previous annual approval process, allowing the Chamber to focus on expanding programs and attracting sponsorships.
Installed for two years, the rink is credited with drawing thousands of residents and visitors with events like skating movie nights and DJ glow nights.
Council noted the rink benefits the community through outdoor activity, tourism, and support for local businesses, while park fees will be waived for its use.
