Over 1,000 athletes will descend on the region for the games on February 3rd
Huntsville is gearing up to host the 2026 Ontario 55+ Winter Games from February 3rd to 5th, welcoming nearly 1,000 athletes, 100 family members, and over 200 volunteers.
The event celebrates active living for adults 55 and older, featuring sports like hockey, curling, skiing, volleyball, and badminton. Besides the games themselves, highlights include opening ceremonies with figure skating stars Kurt Browning and Alissa Czisny, a Lanterns & Ice celebration downtown, and the Forest of Lights at Sandhill Nursery.
Organizers say the Games boost local tourism, showcase Huntsville’s hospitality, and leave a lasting legacy for the community.
