The increase works out to $73 per $300,000 in assessment
Huntsville residents will see a 4.87 per cent increase in property taxes next year following the approval yesterday, of the 2026 Mayor’s Budget. That works out to about $73 more annually for the average home assessed at $300,000.
About a third of the increase goes to everyday services like snow plowing and recreation programs, while the rest funds capital projects, including roads, play structures, and town buildings. Mayor Nancy Alcock says the budget balances quality services with long-term planning to protect Huntsville’s infrastructure.
