The Madill Church was recently completely restored
A piece of Muskoka history may soon get official heritage status. Huntsville Council has announced plans to designate Madill Church, a square timber log building from 1872, under the Ontario Heritage Act.
Built by early settlers with land donated by John Madill, the church stands beside Madill Cemetery, the resting place of Huntsville founder Captain George Hunt and other pioneers.
Anyone who wants to object must submit a written statement with supporting facts by 4:30 p.m. on June 28.
