Morphy plans faster reaction to foster stronger economic development
Gravenhurst councilor Jo Morphy has entered the mayoral race, officially launching a campaign focused on what she calls faster decision-making and stronger economic development.
Morphy says her platform called “A Decisive Vision for Gravenhurst’s Future,” would prioritize downtown revitalization, improved recreation facilities including a potential second ice pad, and streamlined municipal approvals to speed up housing and infrastructure projects.
She also highlighted plans to support Main Street businesses and capitalize on regional tourism opportunities, including increased activity tied to the return of Ontario Northland rail service.
Morphy says the town is at a “turning point” and needs leadership focused on turning long-term ideas into completed projects.
