A full fire ban is in effect in Muskoka, Algonquin Park and Kearney
A full fire ban is in effect across Muskoka and Algonquin Provincial Park due to extremely dry conditions. The ban prohibits all outdoor burning, including campfires, charcoal barbecues, and fireworks. Fire officials say forests are highly flammable, and anyone seeing an unattended fire should call 911.
Meanwhile, fire rating has been raised to Extreme in Kearney, - meaning a total Fire Ban is in effect.
In Burk’s Falls, and the Township of Perry, the Fire Danger rating is set to High. In these areas, campfires are allowed, but only for cooking or warmth, daytime burning is prohibited, and fireworks are banned.
Residents and visitors are urged to stay alert, follow restrictions, and exercise caution with all open flames as dry conditions continue.
