Lake of Bays offers tips to prevent unwanted wildlife encounters

The municipality says following their tips will allow resident to enjoy life close to nature in a safe manner

Residents of Lake of Bays are being reminded to take simple steps to safely share their community with local wildlife.

Officials advise keeping pets indoors at night, leashing dogs, securing garbage and pet food, and never feeding wild animals.

Maintaining tidy yards, fencing properties, and keeping a safe distance from wolves, coyotes, and bears helps prevent unwanted encounters.

The township says these everyday habits let residents enjoy life close to nature while keeping pets and wildlife safe.
