The man had jumped from the cliffs at Ungerman Park into Steamship Bay
A drowning in Gravenhurst is under investigation.
OPP say officers and Muskoka EMS were called Saturday evening to Gravenhurst Wharf after reports of a possible drowning near Steamship Bay Road. Investigators say a man had jumped into the water from the Ungerman Park cliffs and failed to resurface. He was pulled from the water by people on a nearby boat and brought to shore, but life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.
The 28-year-old man from Brampton was pronounced dead.
Police are reminding the public to be cautious around open water and to use lifejackets when possible.
