The new MRI should be ready this summer
Huntsville is marking a major healthcare milestone today with the arrival of the region’s first-ever MRI machine.
The new equipment is being installed at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital, where crews are using a crane to carefully move the unit into place.
This long-anticipated addition means residents will soon have access to critical diagnostic imaging without having to travel out of the region.
Installation is expected to wrap up by early afternoon, with the MRI being set into its final position inside the hospital.
Full service is set to begin after final testing and calibration in the weeks ahead.
