Muskoka Lakes election field grows as nominations close

The mayor, Peter Kelley has been acclaimed

The field of candidates for Muskoka Lakes Township Council is now set for the October municipal election, following today’s two p.m. nomination deadline.

Peter Kelley is the only candidate for mayor.

Ward A has four candidates competing for two Township Council seats: Leslie Orchard, Rick Flannigan, Mary Ellen McIntyre and Jeff Bird. Ruth Nishikawa and Glenn Zavitz are running for the District and Township Council seat.

In Ward B, Gordon Roberts, Allen Edwards and Mitchell Shea are seeking two Township Council seats, while Susan Mazan is the only candidate for District and Township Councillor.

Ward C has five candidates for two Township Council seats: Rob Bosomworth, David Skoric, Pam Jeffery, Sally Moyer Kent and Tanner McNabb. Guy Burry and Barb Bridgeman are running for the District and Township Council seat.

The Township's list also includes candidates for the various school board trustee positions. The municipal election is October 26th.
