Residents are advised to use caution and daytime burning is prohibited
Fire officials across Muskoka have raised the regional fire danger rating to high, prompting tighter restrictions on outdoor burning.
The Muskoka Association of Fire Chiefs says small recreational fires are still allowed in Bracebridge, but only between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m., with no daytime burning permitted.
Officials are also reminding residents to keep fires small, supervised, and well away from buildings, trees, and property lines, and to use only dry wood while keeping water nearby in case of emergency.
The advisory remains in effect as fire agencies monitor conditions across the region through the spring and summer burn season.
