A new section of track was laid bypassing freight corridors
Another step forward for the return of the Northlander, bringing train travel from Cochrane to Toronto closer to reality.
A key one-kilometre segment of track near North Bay has been completed, trimming about 15 minutes off the journey by bypassing busy freight lines in the area.
The service will include stops in Huntsville, Bracebridge, and Gravenhurst, to Toronto with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, USB charging, and on-board food service.
Passengers can expect to hop on the Northlander next fall for a convenient, car-free trip across northern Ontario.
