Police ask everyone to celebrate safely
As Ontarians gear up for Canada Day and summer adventures, the OPP is launching a province-wide safety campaign on roads, trails, and waterways.
Police say 188 people died in the past three years on OPP-patrolled roads because they weren't wearing seatbelts — a reminder to buckle up and secure children properly.
Off-road riders are urged to wear helmets after 43 of 88 recent fatalities involved riders not wearing one.
And on the water, most boating deaths involved missing lifejackets.
The OPP is urging everyone to celebrate safely this summer.
