Five drivers were charged by police after receiving tips from the public
Bracebridge OPP has charged several more impaired drivers during the last week of August.
Officers were conducting a RIDE program on Beaumont Drive on August 22nd and became concerned about the condition of a driver. Police subsequently arrested and charged a 43-year-old Mattawa area man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.
Two days later at 8:25 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers received concerns from members of the public about a possible impaired driver operating a motorcycle in Gravenhurst. Officers located the individual and charged a 61-year-old Gravenhurst man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.
On August 28th at 12:05 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers received a report of a possible impaired driver in Gravenhurst. Officers arrested and charged a 41-year-old Gravenhurst man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.
Then on August 30th officers received multiple reports from motorists travelling on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst about a possible impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle at a service centre north of Gravenhurst and subsequently arrested and charged 62-year-old Burlington man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.
And on September 1st at 1:00 p.m., officers received a report of a possible impaired driver from a concerned member of the public in the area of Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst. Officers located the vehicle on Hastings Drive and subsequently arrested and charged a 56-year-old Gravenhurst man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.
