Police busy with impaired drivers

Five drivers were charged by police after receiving tips from the public

Bracebridge OPP has charged several more impaired drivers during the last week of August.

Officers were conducting a RIDE program on Beaumont Drive on August 22nd and became concerned about the condition of a driver. Police subsequently arrested and charged a 43-year-old Mattawa area man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.

Two days later at 8:25 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers received concerns from members of the public about a possible impaired driver operating a motorcycle in Gravenhurst. Officers located the individual and charged a 61-year-old Gravenhurst man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.

On August 28^th at 12:05 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers received a report of a possible impaired driver in Gravenhurst. Officers arrested and charged a 41-year-old Gravenhurst man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.

Then on August 30^th officers received multiple reports from motorists travelling on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst about a possible impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle at a service centre north of Gravenhurst and subsequently arrested and charged 62-year-old Burlington man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.

And on September 1st at 1:00 p.m., officers received a report of a possible impaired driver from a concerned member of the public in the area of Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst. Officers located the vehicle on Hastings Drive and subsequently arrested and charged a 56-year-old Gravenhurst man with Impaired Operation and Over 80.
