Students return to school Tuesday, and will be heading home from the cottage this weekend.
The Ontario Provincial Police are reminding everyone to stay safe on the roads this Labour Day weekend and as the school year begins.
Police say heavier traffic is expected with families heading home from the cottage, moving students to school, and back-to-school shopping. Drivers are urged to give themselves extra time and follow the rules of the road, with OPP officers out enforcing safety.
With students returning next week, parents are encouraged to review safety tips with their children, whether they travel by bus, bike, or on foot. Police also remind drivers to slow down in school zones, stop for crossing guards and school buses, and watch for increased pedestrian traffic.
