The funds will be used for firefighter mental health and peer support
The Lake of Bays Fire Department has received a $1,200 donation in support of firefighter mental health and peer support training.
The Lake of Bays Fire Department says the cheque was presented December 16 at Station 30 in Hillside by Angelo Raso, in memory of his son Johnny, who died in 2018 from a fentanyl overdose.
The donation will go directly toward mental health and peer support training for firefighters.
The Raso family has long supported the department and also hosts an annual Bella Lake horseshoe tournament fundraiser to give back to the crews who once responded to their family’s call for help.
