Mello moved to Huntsville 3 years ago, after studying abroad
Huntsville’s mayoral race is gaining momentum with Rebecca Mello officially entering the contest.
Mello says she was inspired to run after building strong connections in the community, from volunteering to performing at local senior homes, and believes Huntsville’s future depends on bringing people together.
Originally from Durham Region, she moved to Muskoka 3 years ago after studying abroad. She has a background in business and law, speaks four languages, and plans to write the bar exam this summer. She also founded and leads a charitable organization focused on supporting youth.
Mello says her campaign will focus on helping local businesses grow, tackling housing affordability and workforce challenges, improving infrastructure like roads and lake access, and creating opportunities to attract and retain young residents year-round.
