Hundreds gathered to mark the day
Huntsville residents gathered at River Mill Park yesterday to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Hope Arises founder Joyce Jonathan Crone said reconciliation requires meaningful action, not just acknowledging the past.
Mayor Nancy Alcock delivered the Town’s land acknowledgment and encouraged residents to continue learning, reflecting and building stronger relationships with Indigenous communities.
The gathering included music and a remembrance walk.
