The driver was also charged with having cannabis readily available and driving while suspended

OPP in Bracebridge say another driver has been charged during a RIDE checkpoint.

Police say that on December 31, officers conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere program on South Kahshe Lake Road in Gravenhurst stopped a vehicle and launched an impaired driving investigation.

Police say 49-year-old Morton Smith of Severn Bridge was arrested and charged with impaired operation by drug, driving while suspended, and having cannabis readily available in the vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in Bracebridge court on January 20.
