The Dorset transfer station will limit what it takes in
The Township of Lake of Bays is advising residents of changes coming to the Rideout Transfer Station in Dorset.
The township says that starting September 15, the site will only accept bagged household garbage, recycling, green bin organics, and residential large items. Other services, such as brush, yard waste, and the re-use shed, will no longer be available.
The District of Muskoka says the changes are part of its 2025-2026 waste management plan to improve efficiency. Hours at the site will remain the same.
