Obstetrics was temporarily moved to Huntsville in March
The group fighting to restore childbirth services in Bracebridge says Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is failing local families.
The Save South Muskoka Hospital Committee says there’s still no clear plan or timeline to reopen the obstetrics unit that was shut down in March and moved to Huntsville.
Meanwhile, the MAHC says it’s holding weekly meetings with health officials, but the committee calls that vague and unacceptable.
The group warns the closure is putting mothers and newborns at risk, especially in rural areas where travel time to Huntsville can be critical.
They’re demanding the full return of OB services to Bracebridge immediately.
