The hardest hit areas should be connected by end of week
Hydro One says power has been restored to more than 99 per cent of customers affected by last month’s major ice storm that hit areas like Orillia, Kawartha Lakes, and Parry Sound-Muskoka.
The storm knocked out electricity to over a million homes. Crews—backed by 4,800 mutual aid partners—continue working in the hardest-hit areas, with full restoration expected by the end of the week for most homes.
However, some seasonal cottages and trailers in remote locations may remain without power until May due to ice-covered lakes and difficult access.
