It's the beginning of a 4 phase plan to bring more rental units to Huntsville
Muskoka announced a major milestone in affordable housing.
Yesterday, the Muskoka Community Land Trust began tree clearing for Phase 1 of its innovative housing project.
The four-phase initiative, supported by the District Municipality of Muskoka and the Town of Huntsville, will eventually deliver 179 permanently affordable rental units, with the potential to serve as a model across the region.
By removing housing from the speculative market, the land trust approach aims to give individuals and families long-term stability.
The next step for the project is securing Building Canada Homes funding to keep development moving forward.
