"It's a budget for uncertain times"
In an interview Friday with our station, Parry Sound–Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith called the newly passed Ontario budget “a plan designed for uncertain times.”
Speaking directly to local impacts, Smith said changes to alcohol taxes will benefit the region’s craft brewers — a move he says could mean lower prices for consumers and growth for local businesses.
He also pointed to support for manufacturers and the expansion of the Ontario Made tax credit, which will help fund new equipment and facilities.
Locally, Smith highlighted key investments in primary care, housing-enabling water systems, and ongoing support for the Northlander rail service.
Smith says Muskoka residents can expect even more updates as details from the budget continue to roll out.
