So far HMATA has donated over $110k to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation
Huntsville’s growing tourism and hospitality sector is giving back to local healthcare. The Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association has donated $30,000 to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, supporting care for residents, seasonal visitors, and tourists alike.
HMATA’s executive director, Kelly Haywood, said the donation recognizes the strain tourism can place on hospital staff and infrastructure. Since 2023, HMATA has contributed $110,000 to the hospital.
Hospital CEO Katherine Craine noted that 90 percent of equipment and technology purchases rely on community support, making donations like this vital to keeping care top-notch in Huntsville.
