The hospital is dealing with a gastro-related outbreak
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare has declared a gastro-related outbreak, identified as COVID-19, at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital’s East and South Wings.
As a result, general visitors are not permitted, and only one essential caregiver per patient is allowed, with surgical masks and other protective equipment required.
Hospital staff are continuing testing and have stepped up cleaning procedures to control the outbreak and prevent further spread.
Officials say they are closely monitoring the situation and will update the public as more information becomes available.
