In September 1976, Domtar's Huntsville plant opened, marking a significant milestone for the town of Huntsville. Over the years, the plant underwent multiple expansions and modernizations, contributing to the growth of Domtar's operations. In 1995, Domtar sold the Huntsville plant to Panolam, shifting the facility's ownership. Nearly three decades later, in 2024, Panolam sold the Huntsville plant to Daiken North America LTD, marking another chapter in the facility's evolving history.
