The youth faces a long list of charges
A 14-year-old Bracebridge youth is facing several Highway Traffic Act charges after allegedly trying to flee from police on an electric dirt bike.
Bracebridge OPP say officers spotted the bike being operated unsafely on Manitoba Street around 11 Thursday night. Police stopped the rider on Douglas Drive, but say he then tried to escape through a ditch before becoming dislodged from the bike and being arrested.
The youth faces seven charges, including careless driving, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance or a licence, and helmet and lighting offences. He is due in Bracebridge provincial offences court November 12th.
