MPP Graydon Smith says the funding will help OPP team up with trained crisis workers
The Ontario government is putting more support behind mental health crisis response in Parry Sound–Muskoka.
MPP Graydon Smith says more than $711,000 over two years will help OPP detachments in West Parry Sound, Almaguin Highlands, and Bracebridge team up with trained crisis workers. The mobile response teams are designed to de-escalate situations involving people in distress and connect them with the right care. The province is also putting $9 million into similar programs across Ontario over the next two years.
