The statement follows a disturbing incident in Huntsville involving a visiting MPP
Huntsville’s mayor has spoken out following a disturbing incident on Main Street involving racist remarks directed at a visiting MPP and his family.
Mayor Nancy Alcock said she has reached out to MPP Grewal to offer her sincere apologies on behalf of the Town and Council. She emphasized that the behaviour of the individual involved does not reflect the values of the community and called on residents to speak out against hate.
“Events like this must be confronted,” Mayor Alcock said. “We cannot allow hate to win.”
